The Royal Palace is one of the three main restaurants on the new Disney Dream, located just off the wonderful lobby mid-ship on deck 3. The Royal Palace is beautiful, and features classic french cuisine in a restaurant inspired by the Disney classics Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella.
One of the most popular entrees in the Royal Palace is the Avocado-Citrus salad, very light and tasty, a must for me when it is on the menu. And now, you can make it at home!

Avocado-Citrus Salad
Serves 4
Citrus Dressing
1/4 cup fresh orange juice
1/2 lime, juiced
2/3 cup olive oil
1/2 teaspoon coarse salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Avocado-Citrus Salad
4 navel oranges
3 ripe Hass avocados, halved and pitted
6 cups mixed baby lettuce
For the citrus dressing:
- Combine orange juice and lime juice in a medium bowl. Slowly drizzle in oil, salt and pepper, whisking vigorously until combined. If making in advance, re-whisk before serving.
For the avocado-citrus salad:
- Cut peel, including the white pith, from the oranges with a small knife. Cut segments free from membranes; set segments aside and discard membranes.
- Cut avocadoes into 3/4-inch-thick slices.
- Divide mixed greens among 4 salad bowls. Top with 5 avocado slices and 5 to 8 orange segments; drizzle lightly with dressing. Serve immediately.

This is one of the best salads I have ever had. I was so glad to find the recipe so I could try to recreate it once I got home. Can’t wait to cruise on the Dream again and partake of their wonderful culinary delights!
